Ofsted rate us 'Good'

Hartford Junior School is ‘a school that is on its way up’.
That was the verdict of Ofsted inspectors when they visited the school for the first time since it joined The Cam Academy Trust in 2017.
The result was that the school, for pupils aged 7-11, was rated ‘good’ for the first time in 10 years.
Inspectors said the improvements were the result of “effective leadership provided by the headteacher, the deputy headteacher and other leaders” and added: “Leaders have high expectations of pupils, staff and of themselves. They want every pupil to do as well as possible during their time at Hartford. Leaders make sure that pupils get the support they need to be successful. This is particularly true for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).”
The report noted major improvements in the school’s curriculum and that teaching has also improved in many ways, with teachers noticing immediately when pupils have not understood something and offering alternative help.
Inspectors also recognised that pupils enjoy going to school, are keen to learn, behave well and follow instructions. They are taught to treat other people equally and fairly and these messages are embedded into the day-to-day life of the school.
Headteacher Steve Davis, who took charge in 2015, said: “I am so pleased that Ofsted recognised the hard work, dedication and care from the staff at Hartford Junior School during the recent inspection.
“This is the start of the next phase of improvements at the school, and I’m really pleased to be working with all members of the community to continue to build an excellent education for children at the school.”
Trust CEO Stephen Munday said: “This report is a tremendous endorsement of the excellent and hard work done in recent years by all those associated with the school.
“Very many congratulations are due to all of them. It is great to see how much the school has improved and equally as good to know that it continues to improve further still as it aims for excellence for all of its pupils.”
