Together with staff and governors may I warmly welcome you to Hartford Junior School’s website. For parents who know us well, or new parents, I hope that you will find our new website helpful and that it will answer some of your questions regarding the ethos of our school and its organisation, while providing you and your child(ren) with lots of ideas and resources that compliment the learning that takes place in school.
We are passionate about being a Junior School and believe our school is a special place to be. We aim to provide a caring, secure and purposeful environment where all children feel valued and respected, where they will learn and make lots of new friends. We aim to develop the ‘whole’ child, and pride ourselves, not only on the academic progress our children make here, but moreover on how well we get to know you and your child over your four years with us, and how together we support them to blossom into confident, happy young learners.
Learning experiences for the children are carefully planned and structured. While English and mathematics are given high priority, we strive to provide a broad and balanced curriculum which enables all children to realise their full potential.
From the outset we have high expectations of the children, both educationally and socially. We are convinced that good standards of behaviour and high self-esteem provide a secure basis for learning. We also recognise that children benefit enormously when parents and teachers work together. We therefore aim to develop close partnerships between home and school. We will keep you informed about the progress of your children and hope that you will feel able to discuss any concerns with us.
If you are new to the area, looking for a school for your child, or want to know more information, please feel welcome to contact or visit us at any time by contacting the school office. If we cannot speak to you there and then we will get back to you as soon as we can to arrange a mutually convenient time for me to meet you and take you around the school, so you can see us in action!
If we haven’t already met, we look forward to meeting you soon and hope that your association with Hartford Junior School will be a long and happy one.
